Exquisite Corpse is a short film produced by IQ filmmakers as a collaborative project. The concept comes from a game played by Surrealists, including André Breton, that exploits the mystique of accident. Each player would write a phrase on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal most of the text, and pass it on to the next writer. The technique got its name from a line which came up during the first time it was played: “Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau” (The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine)
30 filmmakers from around the globe made a film based on this same concept. It was created sequentially over a period of 300 days. Each director had to contribute a 30-second scene, having seen only the last 3 seconds of the previous piece.
