Biography
Thom Gonyeau is co-owner of Mountain View Group, a creative communications agency and media production company, where he has worked for more than 25 years.
Thom began his career as a producer and has held many positions at Mountain View from business development to Chief Operating Officer. In 2008, he and his business partner, Stephen Pruitt, purchased the company from its original owner, Jim Tusty, and his role as entrepreneur took off. Mountain View celebrated its 33rd anniversary this past year.
Account management and customer delight have always been at the heart of Thom’s passions. He has partnered with customers on communication projects at GE, The Coca-Cola Company, Raytheon Company, various government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and educational institutions. Over the years, the resulting work has garnered hundreds of regional, national, and international awards.
Thom believes in the power of Creative Problem Solving. He attends the Creative Problem Solving Institute annually and has been a leader for the Springboard and Building Teams curricula. Currently, he is Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Creative Education Foundation, which sponsors the international CPSI conference. He has served on the executive board of Capital District Community Gardens and is past president of two different Advertising Clubs (in Albany, NY and Atlanta, GA). He has been honored as a notable alum by the College of Saint Rose, was named one of the 40 Under Forty to watch by The Business Review, and designated a Top 100 producer.
Thom resides in Atlanta, but has an office in Schenectady, NY, and, therefore, enjoys traveling up and down the East Coast. He enjoys travel, photography, creative writing, tennis, running, and spending time with his wife, Lacey, and son, Bradley, both who have attended IQ conferences.
