Lana Kim is a Los Angeles-based producer and co-founder and Executive Producer of Ways & Means, a creative studio and production company she established in 2012.
A veteran producer working across narrative film, commercials, music videos, branded content, and new media, Lana has built a career at the intersection of filmmaking, art, music, fashion, and culture. Through Ways & Means, she has collaborated with filmmakers and artists including Ana Lily Amirpour, Natasha Lyonne, Carrie Brownstein, and Humberto Leon, while producing work for global brands and cultural institutions including Netflix, Dior, Nike, Google, Sonos, Kenzo, and MoMA.
Her narrative producing credits include The Nowhere Inn, starring St. Vincent and Carrie Brownstein, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival; Martine Syms’ The African Desperate, released by MUBI and nominated for the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award; and Atropia, winner of the 2025 U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Her narrative work has screened at leading international festivals including Sundance, Venice, Cannes, SXSW, Tribeca, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
Before founding Ways & Means, Lana spent nearly a decade at The Directors Bureau, where she oversaw music video production for artists including Beck, Coldplay, Bob Dylan, Feist, Depeche Mode, Sia, Arctic Monkeys, Morrissey, and Beastie Boys, collaborating with directors such as Roman Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Mike Mills, Patrick Daughters, and Nash Edgerton.
Her work has received recognition from Cannes Lions, the Clios, D&AD, The One Show, the Webby Awards, and the ADC Awards.
