Biography

Ondrej Havas is a producer and director based in Auckland, New Zealand. He began his career early, founding Omnicron Projects at 19 in the early 1980s, long before social media and online video. Starting on film, then moving through analogue video, digital video and fully digital workflows, Ondrej has consistently ridden each new technological wave, always looking for ways to do things differently and better.
Alongside his production work, Ondrej has long had a passion for music and entertainment. He has managed several music artists over the years, with projects that have won two Tui Awards – New Zealand’s top recorded‑music honour, broadly equivalent to a Grammy.
In the early 2000s, Ondrej produced award‑winning television series and documentaries. In 2018, he created a new, highly scalable business model for corporate video production and founded VideoTaxi, which by 2022 had become New Zealand’s largest corporate video producer.
Today, Ondrej is once again focusing on television documentaries, series and entertainment projects, drawing on decades of experience across both corporate and creative storytelling.
